Born in Bentong, Pahang, Celebrity Chef Lin whose real name is Norzailina Nordin has a mixed parentage of Javanese and Chinese. She graduated in the field of Statistics and Economics from Grimsby Institute, United Kingdom. Previously she was the Guest Chef at Grand Blue Wave Hotel, Shah Alam. Currently she is an Adjunct Lecturer at Management and Science University, Shah Alam and Chef Consultant at Mamanda Restaurant, Singapore.
She has written over 110 books in different genres. Among them are 69 cookbooks. Others include novels, childrens’ books, antologies and motivational books. As a home-economist and columnist, her articles has appeared in Jelita, Malaysian Womens Weekly and Rasa magazines; Kosmo, Sinar Harian and Berita Minggu Singapore newspapers.
Chef Lin has 25 years of experience in both culinary and literature fields. She has been invited to schools, colleges and universities as moderator for workshops on writing and cooking demonstrations. She is also actively involved as panel for forums and seminars besides appearing in over 100 television and radio programs. Recently she co-hosted ‘Bake & Sell’, a reality TV show. She has developed recipes for F&N, Kimball, Kelloggs, San Remo, Ajinomoto, SCS Butter, Adabi, Panasonic and others.
She was also a Speaker at Kongres Warisan Melayu Sedunia, editor for Selangor Historical Society, member of Chefs Association Malaysia and Dewan Persuratan Melayu Pahang. Her cookbooks were nominated for Gourmand World Media Awards (2004). She also received awards for Prolific Novelist 2005, Prolific Chef 2007 (Alaf 21), 20 Most Prolific Women Writers of Malaysia (MPH), 50 Most Outstanding Authors of Malaysia (GEM), Most Oustanding Achiever (SMPTA) and Best Fiction Book (PNM-RTM).
