2 ways Temaki Sushi
Ingredients (Rice)
1 cup Sushi or short grain rice
1 cup Water
1/3 cup Rice vinegar
Ingredients (Omelette)
1 egg
1 tbsp water
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Ingredients (Tuna)
1 can Tuna in olive oil – strained
½ red onion – small dice
5 tbsp Kewpie Japanese Style Mayonnaise
Ingredients
2 sheets Nori/Seaweed
1/2 cucumber – julienne
2 tbsp Kewpie Japanese Style Mayonnaise
Salad Leaves
1/2 Ripe avocado – sliced
1 crabstick
Orange Ebiko for garnish
Methods
- Make the rice – Cook rice in rice cooker according to packaging or until light and fluffy. Once cooked, place in wide wooden/glass bowl. Pour vinegar and fold rice until cool and well combined. Set aside
- Make the omelette
- Mix egg with water, salt, and pepper
- Fry on lightly greased pan on both sides
- Slice into 2” x 1”
- Make the tuna
- Mix tuna, diced red onion, and mayonnaise
- Assemble Temaki 1:
- Spread rice on corner top left of the Nori.
- Place some salad and cucumber.
- Spread some tuna mayo and place the egg omelet on top of the greens.
- Squeeze some Kewpie Japanese style Mayonnaise on top
- Assemble Temaki 2:
- Spread rice on corner top left of the Nori.
- Place some salad and cucumber.
- Place crabstick and avocado slice
- Squeeze some Kewpie Japanese style Mayonnaise on top
- Garnish with Ebiko
- Roll the Temaki top side up and ready to serve
